EETech and Accuris Partner to Simplify Compliance for Electronics Manufacturers
Sep 11, 2024
EETech, the foremost leader in the electronics industry media community, research, data insights, and digital transformation, in a partnership with Accuris, today launched Vital Data Intelligence (VDI) Compliance Insights, a new interface that enables electronics manufacturers to immediately understand how new or proposed legislation may affect their components.
This powerful integration combines Accuris’ vast database of over 1.2 billion electronic parts with EETech’s cutting-edge VDI Platform, giving manufacturers the unprecedented ability to navigate the complex landscape of compliance requirements with ease and precision.
VDI Compliance Insights users can upload their bill of materials (BOMs) and match them with the Accuris parts database along with comprehensive environmental compliance data, including Full Material Disclosure (FMD). The platform provides an interactive user experience for viewing part FMDs and analyzing BOMs at a granular level, quickly highlighting substances of concern. With the resulting information, manufacturers can proactively replace parts that may cause compliance problems in the future.
“Electronic product manufacturers struggle to keep pace with ever-evolving compliance demands,” said Duane Newman, Chief Product Officer at Accuris. “Our partnership with EETech is designed to combat this challenge. By leveraging our extensive parts database and the data management capabilities of EETech’s VDI platform, together we deliver unmatched, reliable insights into compliance requirements across electronic product manufacturing.”
“As a company focused on digital transformation, we are deeply committed to enhancing global engineering and supply chain workflows within the electronics industry through technological innovation,” said Martin Chatterton, CEO at EETech. “This partnership with Accuris acts as a powerful catalyst for this, significantly enhancing the understanding and management of compliance obligations for electronic product manufacturers and providing substance visibility like never before.”
VDI Compliance Insights can assess compliance information, including EU RoHS, REACH, and chemical substance lists, providing organizations with detailed insights into possible exposure to restricted and reportable substances at the part and BOM level. The solution is also equipped to:
- Evaluate substances contained in an organization’s products that are susceptible to supply constraints. For example, substances on the EU Critical Raw Materials List
- Interactively review parts and BOMs for government material regulations, industry substance lists and future or proposed substance restrictions, like PFAS or export restrictions on rare earth elements
- Identify the manufacturer parts to include in an organization’s Conflict Mineral Program
- Generate a summary report of restricted and reportable substances at part or BOM level
