The Accounting Specialist will analyze information, maintain complete and accurate records, assist with routine accounting duties, and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries from clients and vendors. The ideal candidate should also be a skilled researcher and possess strong communication and computer skills.
Location: hybrid from our headquarters located in the heart of downtown Boise
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Review and verify invoices and statements, determine accounts, and code transactions accurately in the accounting system
- Post accounts payable transactions to general ledger
- Post and balance subsidiary ledgers or accounts
- Prepare and adjust journal entries as necessary
- Process travel and expense vendor payment disbursements
- Review documents to detect errors; correct errors when necessary and review issues with relevant parties
- Research issues to determine sources of discrepancies and make necessary corrections
- Process incoming payments by check, credit card, and electronic transfer
- Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities, including generating financial reports, assisting with audits, and resolving discrepancies
- Speak with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that payments are received in a timely manner
- Communicate with clients to discuss account statuses, charges, or discrepancies
- Participate in ongoing education opportunities to learn about industry trends and developments, current financial legislation, and company policies and procedures
Accounting Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related experience
- Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and current financial legislation
- Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong math and research skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Accounting Information Systems
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data

Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000 DOE
